Presentation Practice
TM meeting on Wednesday Oct. 10.
Thank you all for your participation. It is another great meeting with laughter and interesting speeches.
Thanks to the members of other clubs to come to us for some club interaction.
Thomas
Ronholt accepts to substitute as Sergeant at arms. He does his job with
great confidence and smoothly opens and closes the meeting without a
hitch.
President Marion Chevalier gives us the introduction and welcomes new guests.
Guest
Toastmaster Gabriella describes the program and with lots of little
comments she enlightens our evening. The unforgettable and entertaining
introduction of our club guest Julia to the job description of a time
keeper, is positively commented by Gabriella. Oscar as the ah counter
and Thomas as the grammarian complete the technical team.
Gabriella
leads the meeting full of confidence with smooth transitions, humor and
dramatically performed speakers' introductions.
First
speaker is me, Hans. I have my speech videotaped and critically watch
it, more critically than others. Hereby I offer to record your
presentation and you can watch it later on private YouTube. Tell me
beforehand if you want that.
Second speech by
Djanira tells us vividly 'When time stands still' and takes us on an
sailing trip into paradise. This advanced speech is easy to listen to
and we are taken into another world.
Third speech
is also from the Advanced manual 'The Professional Speaker' and is
about 'Leadership styles'. Javier Macias uses lots of visuals and even
videos, personal anecdotes and all the tricks he is so good at.
As
the general evaluator Marion introduces the guest evaluators who tell
us how it really is. We hear three excellent evaluations of which we can
learn as a club. Nika, Bemjamin and Oscar give us some different look
at evaluations.
Here we come to our most
entertaining part, the Table Topics. Agnieszka well prepared and
naturally gives us the opportunity to talk off the cuff. Volunteer guest
Rodrigo, Daniel and myself take up the challenge to speak impromptu.
From
our technical team we hear a report, which Julia again takes as the
moment to make an entertaining mini speech. Oscar and Thomas eloquently
give their report.
Marion informers us about the upcoming Division Contest, the debate of next week and other club business.
Thomas concludes the meeting.
We enjoy the evening and we are looking forward to the next meeting.
