Fantasy, Creativity and Inspiring ... BCN TM Meeting
A Fantastic night occurred last Wednesday in the BCN Toastmasters EAE Room, not only for the great quality of the speeches but also because it was a Lord of the Rings journey from the beginning to the end.
To summarize, Dani our Sergeant of Arms started with the smile that always characterizes him Dani enthusiastically remembered the importance of turning off the mobiles and he invited to the stage to our extraordinary president assigned for his rol Issac Riera, he warmly introduced to the audience all our dear guests. BCN Toastmasters is a Fellowship!
After was the turn for the TM Nacho Tellez, who involved us in the journey of the trilogy of the Lord in a very creative way, he introduced his hobbit’s team, our Grammarian Issac Baggins introduced the word of the day “PRECIOUS”. Sandra timekeeper assigned for this session remembered the importance of time management and showed to the audience her tools to supervise that the participants did not exceed their assigned timing. Ana Revilla chose the AH Counter role, she did it great in her first role!
The night continued and now was the time for the half human half elf, Regina Fullana she completed an emotive and inspirational speech called “Life Lessons” the audience was delighted by her personal stories, she explained to us that in her early days participating in Toastmasters even the beer was a challenge for her as she was shy to speak in that moment, She shaped & constructed word by word a unique speech based on the importance of enjoying every part of your life “Live life Fully”, she divided the speech in three parts, family, friends and strangers, she thanked the Toastmaster members as per Regina being part of TM inspired her to face her fears and encouraged her to learn and her advice was enjoying the process.
Second speech was performed by Ana Villar, she is a great Lord of The Rings Fan, Her speech was really interesting as she explained the different projects included in the TM communication and leadership manuals, she mentioned the core elements to become a great speaker and leader, she pointed out the different steps starting from the basic, following with bronze, silver and Gold on the way to get the Distinguished TM title, she advised to focus in both educational programs and she state the importance of setting SMART Goals, she encouraged the audience to contact VP Issac & Mariyana to achieve the DTM.
Third Speech was coordinated by Andrea Buron she explained that she decided to accept this mission after receiving a S.O.S emergency call due to two last minute cancellations of the speeches; she completed for the first time a group storytelling, in this case the speech was built up by the audience 1st row made the introduction, 2nd, 3rd & 4th rows were in charge of creating the body and the 5th row the conclusion, the title was “The one and only color”.
Many interesting phrases were included in the speech, Energy is color, men and women see colors in a different way, colors are related to emotions, It’s very important to colored our life, finally it was clear that every person has a different color preferences and even though there are a lot of “precious colors” she mentioned that it is really important to subscribe to speeches and state the importance of not quit at the very last minute, as it causes a lot of troubles to the organization and the agenda!
Next the stage was given to Lidia, who was the only evaluator of the night, she pointed out the sincerity of Regina’s speech, she mentioned that including personal stories creates and important connection between the audience and the speaker and thanked Regina for sharing these Life lessons with us.
The journey was almost over but Jelena Vetockina table topics master, as the elf’s queen she entertained the audience with her inspirational "Life messages” the first volunteer was M.A. he needed to improvise about ”Follow your dreams and … keep climbing” He inspired us including his book, he said stop assuming. Is your dream, It’s not impossible, It’s achievable, it will take time, maybe you will need to learn new skills, step by step.
Second volunteer was Joan “If opportunity does not knock, build a door” Sometimes in life you need to create your opportunities, build the door, Is all about communication and setting goals, Joan said “If you are looking for a key the issue is about your heart, write your first page and encourage yourself”.
Third valiant TM to go to the stage was Ambros “Be nice to people on your way up, you can find them on your way down” He mentioned that we don’t need to be friends with everyone but it’s important to learn that there is different people than you, he persuade the audience to respect the differences and try to be in the other’s place in that way you could probably understand the person.
It’s the end of this journey and with pleasure and a good sense of humor Ruben Martinez, came to the stage as a general evaluator, he mentioned that he was Aragorn, not only because he did not wanted to accept the role of Mordor but also because he explained that as he is from Zaragoza he felt more identified with Aragorn! He mentioned to be really pleased with the usage of the word of the day, he invited to the hobbit team to provide his input of the session, but the most important he applauded the team working from the BCN TM club to solve the GAPs, 2 cancellations solved as a group in a very successful manner, he thanked Nacho for the topic selected and the funny mood.
Our president Judit went to the stage and explained that BCN TM Family is growing…. Ana and Joan are new members from the club, MA will be Joan’s mentor & Mariyana will be Ana’s mentor.
