September 21th

What an inspiring session as always.

Sandra Almeida the president has started with this powerful image of Ibrahim Hamato.
He is a tennis table player who lost his arms through a train accident but said to himself “I will play tennis table like any other person”.

He developed a fascinating technique and was playing for the last Paralympic Games of Rio.
Sandra then reminded us that really nothing is impossible and the human being is capable of so much
Then Beatriz Garcia started with her speech “Who I am” .

Beatriz Garcia told us the anecdote that a few years ago she assisted a workshop at the Business University of ESADE and she remembers that someone there explained he found himself unemployed, and wanted to things he likes but he just didn´t know WHO HE WAS.

Beatriz thought this was a strong signal for herself but that she missed at the time.

Beatriz for many years has been a workalchoholic, was very corporate and extremely loyal to her Company.

Her identity was mainly defined by the Company she worked for.

At some point she found herself like at the edge of a cliff, thinking about WHO SHE WAS REALLY. Certainly much more than the previous things mentioned. She’s been given some time to think about it and also remember that workshop she attended. It was certainly scary to lose the sense of who you are and Beatriz described this sensation like being “at the edge of a Cliff”.

Finally after some introspection, Beatriz could identify what really mattered for her and what she has to give to others people. She is a person with values, a person who loves, a person who enjoy life in many different ways.

She concluded her speech with some piece of excellent advice that I would like to share with anyone who read this blog:
“Look for those things, those things that you enjoy and make you happy and do it now”.

The session followed by Sean Palit´s second speech: “I am bringing sexy back”

Sean Palit had a special objective for this speech: Body Speaks ie make good use of his body for a powerful speech.

Not least to say that he succeeded!

Sean during his speech wanted to bring sexy back but by sexy he meant creativity! As a matter of fact we were all children and children have a vivid imagination.

He then structured very clearly his speech in two main parts: how we got disconnected from our childhood creativity and how we can bring it back.

Pay attention: a lot of useful information is to followed!

Sean mentioned that we got disconnected from our creativity first because of our self-criticism and our fear of failure limit our initiatives. Then we are pressured by the rules of society to follow others and finally our educational system is made in itself that we learn how to follow masses.
All of this have a deep impact on our creativity, however a simple solution exist! We just need to go back to our child mind set, be curious about everything around us and explore our world. Our creativity will flourish naturally.

After all Creativity is the new sexy!

We come to the 3rd speech of Maria Luisa Gomes.

Maria Luisa made such an excellent speech about the power of Gratitude

Be thankful for all the good things you have in life

Every little step is rewarding.

Then Maria Luisa give us a technique to practice our gratitude: gratitude is an emotional muscle. As such if you do exercise every day, you will train your muscle of gratitude.

How many of you want more love in your life? If you want more love, then practice gratitude ;)
In conclusion she gave three simple yet powerful advices:

- Feel thankful for good opportunities that are to come
- Write things you feel grateful for every day
- Turn everything into opportunities to grow and evolve.

Emilie Jacquetton then leaded the table topics and should be that she was in connection with Maria Luisa because without them to speak together, it was also about Gratitude!

The participants were to think about a random situation (given by Emilie) and had to say thank you to that person and also why.

A great session and lots of things to take away, as always!!
