Toastmasters session June 1st - ALWAYS LEARNING WITH TOASTMASTERS!

Dear Toastmasters and friends,

Once more the room at the 5th floor of EAE is packed with TM members and up to 11 guests. The session starts with a nice and warm welcome from our acting President, Djanira Cortesao.

Marisol Cifuentes, tonight's Toastmaster, reminds us that we should be conscious about the amount of paper that we use and introduces the concept of the electronic agenda, which is carefully explained to all. Unlike other times, tonight the agenda will only be available on-line.

Tonight there will be three prepared speeches instead of four and let the show begins...with the first speaker, Cristian Iordache. He explains in detail all you need to know to go hiking. Thank you Cristian for your advice, now I am looking forward to going to the mountains again!

The second speech tonight is titled "Teaching a new dog old tricks". Djanira Cortesao has selected very appropriate visual aids to illustrate us how she has managed to teach her new adopted pet in a successful way.

Marina Lussich, the 3rd speaker of the evening, shows us that she has carefully researched her topic: Higiene de manos, un acto de amor. Marina makes us aware of how important washing our hands can be.

After the great speeches, it is time to learn from the evaluator team: Marion Chevalier, Stefan Dissmer and Judit Permanyer, which is conducted by Dale Blagrove as General Evaluator.

The long-awaited Table Topics section begins by the Table Topic Master, Sonia Rosales. The first volunteer, Cormac Walsh shows his improvisation skills by talking about a bicycle with pedals under your desk to generate the power for your PC, avoiding reduction of personnel while getting fit.

The next volunteer is Lluis Torruella. His idea is feeding prisoners by a luxury hotel group. In this way, prisoners would realize how rich people live and they could become the target in case they want to keep robberies.

Two guests volunteer and improve two additional ideas: a stone located in your brain to store the best ideas and to provide inspiration when needed; and a GPS to control sheep from home. Thank you for being so brave to stand up and go on stage!

Finally, Carles Solé as Timekeeper, Patricia Vargas as Grammarian and Clara Beltrán as Ah-Counter give their reports.

Congratulations to all for the opportunity to learn with such inspirating and educational session.
Ana Villar
